9 Additional Candidates Earn NFIB Alabama PAC Legislative Endorsements

The NFIB Alabama PAC today said it has endorsed an additional nine candidates for seats in the state legislature. Earlier, the political action committee announced it was endorsing 78 incumbents for reelection. The PAC is comprised exclusively of NFIB members. “We need to elect leaders who will do everything they can to create and maintain an environment where small, independent businesses can succeed,” NFIB State Director Rosemary Elebash said. The NFIB Alabama PAC’s endorsement is important to these campaigns. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged it will activate its grassroots network on behalf of these campaigns. NFIB’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small-business issues. The first Capitol building in Montgomery, Alabama was built in 1847, and was destroyed by fire in 1849. The current State Capitol was built on the previous Capitol's foundations, and was completed in 1851. The building has grown over time with an east wing added to the buildings rear in 1885, a south wing in 1906, a matching north wing in 1912, and along with a complete renovation to the whole building a modern addition to the rear in 1992.
