Urge lawmakers to oppose the California Guaranteed Health Care for All Act

Assembly Bill 1900 would create the California Guaranteed Health Care for All program, or CalCare, a government-run health care system in the state. NFIB California members are – and historically have been – overwhelmingly opposed to universal health care in the state.

$500 billion dollars is the latest estimated cost of the proposed universal single-payer health care system in California.

State government is already riddled with mismanagement. We cannot allow something as vitally important as health care to turn into the likes of the Employment Development Department and Department of Motor Vehicles.

Small business will ultimately bear the financial burden of a government-run health care scheme. Lawmakers have considered imposing an excise tax on businesses, payroll taxes, and a State Personal Income CalCare Tax to fund the program.

The cost of doing business in California is already astronomical and this bill would exacerbate the fiscal pressure on small business owners. Stop this unaffordable plan for Californians NOW.
