NFIB has recognized Bo Carey, president of Greer’s Home Furnishings in Loudon, with its prestigious Small Business Champion award. The recognition honors NFIB members who go the extra mile to help the association promote and protect the right of its members to own, operate and grow their businesses. NFIB has 7,000 members in Tennessee and 300,000 nationwide.

Carey serves on the NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council and is vice chair of the NFIB Tennessee PAC. He is a fourth-generation owner of Greer’s Home Furnishings and owner of “The Shoppes on the Square,” which has 44 unique outlets under one roof in downtown Loudon.

“Bo Carey is a tremendous leader for small businesses in Tennessee,” said NFIB State Director Jim Brown. “He is very connected to state and federal leaders, who look to him for input on key issues impacting small businesses like his. His activism is second to none and has resulted in many public policy successes for Tennessee’s job creators.”

Carey, an NFIB member since 1992, recently received the award at NFIB’s Small Business Day at the Capitol with his wife Lisette and daughter Rachel joining him.

“It’s a great honor to win NFIB’s Small Business Champion award,” Carey said. “I’ve enjoyed serving on the Leadership Council for many years, advocating at NFIB’s Small Business Day’s in Nashville and DC Fly-in’s, and attending or hosting Guardian of Small Business award presentations to Tennessee legislators.”

Carey runs Bo Carey History Tours, which includes several important tours of Old Loudon. He is president of Loudon ALIVE 2023-2026, a fiddler/vocalist for The Early Morning String Dusters, a Knoxville bluegrass & comedy band in its 48th year, and vice president of Loudon Legacy Foundation, with a mission to fund a Historic Museum.
