Repealing Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) and lowering credit card swipe fees are crucial to small businesses. To urge action on these issues, small business owners from across the country took time away from their business to attend the NFIB D.C. Fly-In this June.
The event provided opportunities to meet with lawmakers but also to attend sessions and network with other small business owners. U.S. Representative Brad Finstad (MN-01) spoke about the security concerns surrounding the personally identifiable data previously submitted to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) by U.S. businesses. U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (KS) discussed legislation to lower credit card swipe fees. U.S. Representative Mark Messmer (IN-08) shared his support for stopping the federal Heat Standard mandate. Other speakers included Kelly Loeffler, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and political analyst Jim Ellis of the Ellis Insight Report.

Small business owners were able to have productive conversations with lawmakers from over 140 offices on the top issues and concerns. Hearing stories from owners about their day-to-day business operations is crucial for lawmakers to know what issues matter most to small businesses.
