NFIB has named Mike Miller, owner of Patrick’s Neighborhood Bar & Patio in East Memphis, as chairman of its statewide Leadership Council (LC). The committee of small business leaders advises NFIB on public policy matters at the state and federal levels that impact NFIB’s 7,000-strong membership in Tennessee.

“Mike Miller is a terrific advocate for all things small business, and we’re thrilled to welcome him as our Leadership Council Chair for a two-year term,” said NFIB State Director Jim Brown. “Mike is second-to-none when it comes to preparing and discussing with lawmakers the potential impact of proposals on small business. His many successful testimonies and ongoing leadership made it an easy choice for us to ask him to serve as our LC chair.”

Miller acquired Patrick’s in 2005 and joined NFIB shortly thereafter in 2007. He served two terms as president of the Memphis Restaurant Association (2008-2012 and 2020–2025) and is a member of the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association board of directors. His peers named him MRA Restaurateur of the Year in 2015 and Tennessee Restaurateur of the Year in 2019.

Miller said, “One of the most important resources I have to build and protect my business is my membership with the NFIB, and I couldn’t be happier to be serving as chair of the council. NFIB continues to give me a seat at the table versus being on the government’s menu and has helped to make my small business stronger.”

Miller is a longtime supporter of Special Olympics of Memphis and has chaired the Memphis Zoo’s “Zoo Rendezvous,” the organization’s largest annual fundraising event, for 26 years. He also supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Giving Kitchen, The Dixon Gallery & Gardens, and the Pink Palace Museum of Science & History.
