New Hampshire lawmakers have proposed a new tax credit that would help small employers offer a flexible health benefit option to employees.

BACKGROUND: New Hampshire Senate Bill 635 offers a two-year tax credit worth $300 per employee per year for contributions you make to an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) or Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA).
These accounts give small businesses a fixed cost health benefit option and allow employees to use funds on medical expenses and insurance premiums. Unused funds stay with the employer, employees get access to lower priced individual market coverage, and the plan stays with the employee. It’s a win-win.
No one idea will fix our broken healthcare system, but we know small employers and employees need more affordable options.
