State of the State Address
Gov. Janet Mills will deliver her State of the State message on January 27th to a joint session of the Senate and House. She is expected to highlight her accomplishments as governor, present her views on current challenges facing the State and vision for how to address them, and outline her proposal for responding to federal funding changes, prompted by the One Big Beautiful Bill law of 2025 (PL 119-21), as well as state income tax conformity issues prompted by that law.
NFIB hopes Governor Mills continues to support full conformity with Section 179 expensing, business interest deduction, and R&D expenses for small business.
Details on tax conformity are expected to be released later this month.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
