NFIB State Director Brad Jones appears on Wake Up Missouri, previews 2026 legislative session

The Missouri Legislature is back in session. Small business optimism is on the rise. NFIB State Director Brad Jones appeared on Wake Up Missouri to discuss the latest findings of the Small Business Economic Trends report and previewed what small business owners can expect from the 2026 legislative session.
“If the small business economy is feeling better, why is it? First of all, I think that a lot of small business people feel like the cost pressures are going to ease a little bit,” Jones said. “If they’re not going to go up, they’re going to stabilize or come down a little bit. That’s a good thing.”
When asked about NFIB’s priorities this session, Jones said:
“Regulatory reform is always something that we’re looking at. Civil justice reform. We’ve got small businesses out there that are once again getting sued for doing absolutely nothing. Those are a few of the areas that we’re going to be looking at. We’re definitely going to be laser-focused on the details concerning the individual income tax.”
