Legislative Update: Pennsylvania General Assembly is Back in Session

January 6, 2026

The General Assembly reconvened on Tuesday Jan. 6, 2026

The Pennsylvania General Assembly reconvened on Tuesday, January 6, for the 2026 legislative session. NFIB’s Pennsylvania Team will be active in Harrisburg this session advocating for pro-small business policies. Read our press release on the start of session here.

NFIB’s Top 5 Small Business Legislative Priorities Include:

  1. Repealing accelerated sales tax prepayments.
  2. Sales tax collection/remittance discount.
  3. Regulatory reform and transparency in permitting.
  4. Website ADA compliance legislation.
  5. Apprenticeship ratios.

SAVE THE DATE: NFIB’s annual Economic Forum will be on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, in Harrisburg. Stay tuned for more details.

TAKE ACTION: Lawmakers are considering a bill that would provide full unemployment benefits to those who have not lost their jobs, but who have voluntarily gone on strike. Tell your legislators to oppose this bad idea.
