NFIB Discusses Pro-Small Business Tax Provisions at League City Regional Chamber of Commerce Breakfast

November 17, 2025

Attendees received a legislative overview of pro-small business tax reforms advanced at state and federal levels.

At a recent League City Regional Chamber of Commerce breakfast, NFIB State Director Jeff Burdett and NFIB Principal Louis Bertolotti were invited to discuss several pro-small business tax provisions at the state and federal levels.
Bertolotti discussed NFIB’s efforts to make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent, which was included in the tax reform bill passed by Congress and signed into law by President Trump in July.
“The 20% Small Business Deduction’s permanence has given Main Street the certainty they need to plan for the future,” Bertolotti said.

Attendees also received an overview of Prop 9, which was passed by the state legislature and approved by the voters. Prop 9 will save small business owners in Texas over $500 million annually.
“Our small businesses are the foundation of our economy,” Burdett said. “The tax relief delivered by Congress and the voters here in Texas will help these small business owners continue to invest in their workforce, meet their customers’ needs, and keep our communities thriving.”
