Legislators were rated on 11 key votes on issues important to small businesses
NFIB State Director Leah Long today said that 91 state legislators — 29 senators and 62 representatives — achieved 100% NFIB Voting Records in the 2024-25 legislative session.
“Louisiana is a good state for small businesses because our legislators consistently support policies that enable them to grow, create jobs, and support their communities,” Long said.
The 2024-25 Voting Record looks at 11 key votes in both chambers of the legislature on issues important to small businesses, including tax relief, medical transparency, and stopping lawsuit abuse. Click here to see the full results and an explanation of the issues.
Long said the NFIB Voting Record does not reflect every element considered by a lawmaker when voting, nor does it represent a complete profile of a legislator. It also does not take into account that many of these legislators were very helpful to small businesses in committee.
“The bottom line is that Louisiana’s small business owners know they have champions in the legislature who understand their challenges and are willing to stand up for them,” Long said.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
