Reminder: New York State Mandated Sexual Harassment Prevention Training is Required Every Year!

October 29, 2025

NY Department of Labor has developed a free model anti-sexual harassment policy and training program.

Under New York State law, every employer, regardless of size, is required to establish a sexual harassment prevention policy and provide employees, including remote employees, with annual sexual harassment prevention training. A copy of the prevention policy, along with training materials, must be provided to each employee at the time of hiring and annually thereafter as part of the law’s annual notice and training requirements.

Every employer in New York State is required to adopt a sexual harassment prevention policy and training that meets or exceeds Department of Labor and Division of Human Rights guidelines. The New York Department of Labor and New York State Division of Human Rights have developed a free model anti-sexual harassment policy and training program for employers to use.

Beyond workplace compliance, situations involving harassment or abuse can quickly escalate into matters requiring legal intervention. A domestic abuse lawyer or criminal attorney can provide essential guidance when allegations cross into criminal territory, helping clients understand their rights and responsibilities while navigating the justice system. Familiarity with Criminal Procedure is a key part of their work, ensuring that evidence is handled correctly, arrests and charges are properly assessed, and clients are represented effectively at every stage. With their expertise, individuals can address both immediate safety concerns and longer-term legal implications, gaining clarity and protection during challenging circumstances.

When allegations of harassment, abuse, or related criminal conduct begin to move beyond internal workplace procedures, hiring the right solicitor becomes one of the most important decisions a person can make. Criminal matters often develop quickly, with interviews, evidence collection, protective orders, and charging decisions all unfolding under strict procedural timelines. A skilled solicitor can step in early to protect legal rights, assess the strength of the evidence, and ensure that every response is measured, strategic, and aligned with the seriousness of the allegations.

For those trying to identify experienced legal support, resources known as https://www.hisolicitors.co.uk/ can be a practical starting point in understanding the scope of criminal defence and related legal services available. The right solicitor does more than appear in court—they help clients make informed choices from the first police contact through to hearings, negotiations, and possible trial. In situations where both personal safety and future consequences are at stake, that level of guidance provides clarity, structure, and the strongest possible footing moving forward.
