Rep. Schmidt Participates in Roundtable With Local Small Business Owners

August 21, 2025

The roundtable featured a discussion of the pro-small business wins secured in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

This week, Rep. Derek Schmidt (R-Kansas) participated in a roundtable with several small business owners in the Topeka area, including NFIB Member and Small Business Owner Patti Mellard. The roundtable featured a discussion of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which included several provisions that benefit Main Street Kansans, including making the Small Business Deduction permanent.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to meet the Congressman, ask questions, and share their stories.
“We thank Rep. Schmidt for taking the time to meet with our members and answer their questions,” NFIB State Director Dan Murray said. “Making the Small Business Deduction permanent has delivered real certainty to small business owners here in Kansas and across the country.”
