Join NFIB Minnesota For A FREE Webinar About Independent Contractor Laws

July 24, 2025

Join us in a discussion about independent contractor laws and how they'll impact small businesses in Minnesota

Join us for a virtual event on Tuesday, August 5th at Noon Central, for a discussion about the new Minnesota Independent Contractor laws that were passed in 2024 and what they mean for your business.

NFIB State Director Jon Boesche and Martin Kappenman, a labor & employment attorney from Peters and Kappenman and an NFIB member, will provide an overview of these laws and help answer any questions you have.

Many concerns have arisen about these new laws. A few examples include:

  • Expanded liabilities for employers in all industries who utilize independent contractors.
  • Expanded penalties ($10,000+ per individual violation) for misclassifying workers as independent contractors across all industries.
  • Overhauling the independent contractor test for the construction industry by transitioning from a 9-Factor Test to an even more complicated 14-Factor Test.

For questions or if you need help registering, please contact Grassroots Manager Ben Abrahamson at 218-969-5121 or at Ben.Abrahamson@nfib.org.
