NFIB Applauds New Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation

July 10, 2025

Brian Schutt, an Indianapolis business owner, was picked to lead the office

Governor Mike Braun officially launched the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation to help small business owners start, grow, and operate their businesses. Establishing the office was one of NFIB’s top priorities during this past legislative session, and NFIB is looking forward to its potential impact in fostering new job opportunities and wage growth.

“NFIB members and small business owners statewide will benefit directly from this office, and we thank Governor Braun for making it happen,” said NFIB Indiana State Director Natalie Robinson.

The office will be led by Brian Schutt, co-founder of Indianapolis co-working space and startup incubator Refinery46, as well as the co-founder of Homesense Heating and Cooling. Check out this Indianapolis Business Journal article to learn more.

Governor Braun redirected Indiana’s economic development efforts to focus on supporting Hoosier small businesses and spreading the benefits of economic development to all four corners of the state.
