Tell Lawmakers: Keep Iowa Income Taxes Low!

March 19, 2024 Last Edit: July 22, 2024

Lawmakers are considering a bill that would increase the difficulty of raising or broadening income taxes in Iowa.

The Iowa Legislature is considering a bill that would let Iowans vote on a Constitutional Amendment requiring a two-thirds majority ‘YES’ vote in the Iowa House and Senate on any future income tax increases.

According to a recent NFIB survey, 23 percent of small business owners reported that inflation was their single most important business problem. Between escalating costs and continued uncertainty in the marketplace, our job creators are facing enormous challenges. Making it more difficult for Iowa lawmakers to raise or broaden income taxes in the state is good for small businesses and their employees.
