Their votes to make the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent praised

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento, Calif., (June 2, 2025) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today released new advertisements recognizing Representative David Valadao (CA-22), Representative Kevin Kiley (CA-03), Representative Young Kim (CA-40), and Representative Ken Calvert (CA-41) for supporting America’s small businesses by backing efforts in Congress to make the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent.

NFIB will feature radio and digital ads throughout California’s 22nd District and digital ads throughout California’s 3rd District, 40th District and 41st District. These ads continue NFIB’s multi-year, multi-state advocacy effort to ensure the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction is made permanent.

The ads will also spotlight NFIB members sharing in their own words, via video ads, how the Small Business Tax Deduction has empowered them to grow and invest in their small businesses, along with the consequences if Congress fails to act.

“Over the last seven years, the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction has helped America’s small businesses grow and hire,” said NFIB California State Director John Kabateck. “Rep. David Valadao, Rep. Kevin Kiley, Rep. Young Kim, and Rep. Ken Calvert understand the importance of the Small Business Deduction and have been leading voices in Congress to make it permanent. With Congress currently considering sweeping tax legislation, we are hopeful that lawmakers act quickly and protect America’s small businesses from a massive tax increase.”

The Small Business Tax Deduction, first passed as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, allows small business owners to deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income, helping level the playing field between small firms and large corporations.
