The Mississippi state director spoke with SuperTalk about why Congress needs to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent

NFIB State Director Leah Long was on SuperTalk Mississippi’s “Mornings with Richard Cross” recently and spoke about some of the issues facing the state’s small businesses.

One of the most pressing issues is whether Congress will vote to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent. The deduction is set to expire by the end of the year.

“We have numbers that 17,000 plus new jobs could be great created in Mississippi over the next decade,” if the deduction becomes permanent,” Long said. If the measure fails to pass, she said, “It’s going to cost jobs. There’s going to be less growth. It’s going to be more uncertainty for Mississippi’s Main Street businesses.”
