SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 17, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Laurie Davies for State Assembly.

“As one might expect from someone with small-business-owning experience, Assembly Member Laurie Davies has a great pro-small-business voting record,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “But more than that, she’s also an educator to her legislative colleagues on the struggles small-business owners face and how very vital Main Street is to the health of California’s economy. Laurie Davies is small businesses’ clear choice for State Assembly.”

The new 74th Assembly District includes portions of Orange and San Diego counties, including the enire communities of Dana Point, Laguna Nigel, Oceanside, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, and Vista.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year. The NFIB membership is a reflection of American small business. Small-business owners are also a potent political force.
