SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 26, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Marie Alvarado-Gil for State Senate.

“Marie Alvarado-Gil fundamentally understands small-business issues and gets that Main Street enterprises have a tougher time remaining open than big businesses do,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “Her commitment to opposing taxes and her statement that Sacramento has to stop imposing one-size-fits-all policies really resonated with us.”

The new 4th State Senate District includes all or parts of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, Placer, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year.
