Small Business Endorses Brian Zahra and Paul Hudson for Supreme Court

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LANSING (September 8, 2022) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the state’s leading small business advocacy association, today announced that its Michigan PAC has endorsed sitting Supreme Court Justice Brian Zahra and appellate lawyer Paul Hudson in the two contests on the ballot this year for Michigan’s highest court. NFIB will encourage its members in Michigan to help turn out the small-business vote in early voting and on Election Day. The elections of Zahra and Hudson to the Supreme Court are not only critical to small business owners, but also to protecting free enterprise across Michigan. “Justice Zahra’s commitment to public service has been exemplary, and he truly understands the importance of judicial stability to our state’s economy,” said Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director. “On the Supreme Court, he has been a steadfast arbiter of sound, even-handed jurisprudence in a fair and predictable manner. Justice Zahra is a thoughtful, intelligent, and experienced jurist who has earned Michiganders’ votes to be retained in November.” “Paul Hudson is a highly respected appellate lawyer who possesses a strong constitutional background and will bring years of legal knowledge and experience to the Court,” continued Fisher. “He’s excelled at all levels in the practice of law and is a leader in his profession and the Michigan State Bar. Hudson will fairly interpret the law as intended by its writers and will make an excellent addition to the Michigan Supreme Court.” State endorsements are decided by the NFIB MI PAC Board, which is made up exclusively of small business owners. These endorsements are important to statewide and legislative candidates due to the impact small business owners have in our state and country. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls.
