NFIB Awards Senator Chuck Grassley Guardian of Small Business Award

DES MOINES, Iowa (Sept. 15, 2022) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, awarded U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley the Guardian of Small Business Award, NFIB’s most prestigious legislative recognition. “On behalf of Iowa’s small businesses, we are pleased to name Senator Grassley a Guardian of Small Business,” said Matt Everson, NFIB Iowa State Director. “Senator Grassley has been a staunch supporter of small businesses and has earned a 100% NFIB voting record for the 117th Congress, further proving his dedication to small business issues. He has been a reliable voice for Iowa’s small businesses in Washington and we are proud to present him with this award today.” “Over the past few years, small businesses have been forced to confront unprecedented challenges – including a pandemic and now soaring inflation,” said Senator Grassley. “I’ve continued making it a priority to ensure business owners have the resources needed to succeed. Just this year, I successfully led an effort that will help small businesses stay afloat during tough times. Small businesses form the backbone of our economy, and it’s an honor to support pro-growth policies that enable Iowans to succeed.” “NFIB awards the Guardian of Small Business Award to Members of Congress who have proven to be real champions of small businesses,” said Brad Close, NFIB President and CEO. “Senator Grassley has supported policies that grow the economy and has opposed legislation that would increase taxes and mandates on small businesses. He has voted consistently with small businesses and has earned being awarded a Guardian of Small Business Award.” Find a complete list of the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award recipients from the 117th Congress, please click here. NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with small businesses on key issues identified by small business owners. Those who voted with small business on key issues 70% or more of the time during the 117th Congress earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award. NFIB informs lawmakers in advance which votes will be considered NFIB Key Votes and asks lawmakers to support the consensus views of our members. We also remind them that the results will be reported back to the NFIB membership.
