Liz Roe named Grassroots Manager for Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin

“We are so excited to have Liz on board,” Senior Grassroots Manager Jake Braunger said. “With her entrepreneurial background and vast advocacy experience, we believe she will do fantastic work for our members.” Liz Roe is a twenty-five-year veteran of the government and nonprofit space, having gotten her start working for Michigan Governor John Engler and the Michigan Speaker to the House. A family move took her to Washington, DC, where she worked in the Government Affairs Division of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). In her position as State Advocacy Director, she served as the main staff contact and advisor for state government affairs issues for 19 states across the US. In 2014, Liz left the government relations space and moved into the realm of nonprofit development and fundraising. In 2017, Liz launched Liz Roe Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in nonprofit communication, grant writing, defense contracting, and project management. In 2021, Liz and her husband Jamie merged their two consulting businesses together to form Team Roe, a multi-spectrum political and nonprofit consulting firm. Liz has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. An avid fan of auto racing, she got to fulfill a bucket list item last year when racing legend Mario Andretti took her for a ride around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a 2-seater Indy Car! When she isn’t zooming around the raceway or helping our members, Liz resides in Macomb Township with her husband, two daughters, and a zoo of pets.
