Work of Interim Legislative Committees Continues

The Nevada Legislature held its regular session, followed by two special sessions, this year and will not meet in full again until 2025. So, what happens in between? “Following each session, there is a 20-month period between sessions referred to as the ‘interim,’ according to the Legislature’s website. “Interim committees are created by the Legislature to work on specific and often complex issues between sessions. Interim committees receive reports and public comment, debate public policy issues, and formulate recommendations for new legislation in the next legislative session.” On many issues, the work of the interim committees is like a baton handed off to lawmakers convening for the regular 2025 session, so the work of these committees is not to be ignored or minimized. That’s why NFIB doesn’t slacken in its vigilance of the issues the interim committees will be debating as they related to small business. NFIB members with any questions or particular concerns are encouraged to send an email to NFIB State Director Tray Abney at tray@abneytauchen.com.
