Remember to Shop Small During Florida's Back-to-School Tax Holiday

NFIB State Executive Director Bill Herrle says Florida’s two-week back-to-school sales tax holiday is a great opportunity for people to help local businesses during difficult economic times. This year’s back-to-school tax holiday on clothes, school supplies, learning aids, and computers began on July 24 and runs through Aug. 6. The latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index said owners rank inflation and labor quality as the most important problems facing their small businesses. “When you shop at a locally-owned business, you really do help the community,” Herrle said. “You help the small businesses that create jobs and support their schools, neighborhoods and hometowns through the year. You also can find merchandise and a level of service you won’t see at most chain stores.”
