NFIB Colorado’s Small Business Day a Huge Hit

Building on the success of last year’s Small Business Day, this year’s event showed again that NFIB members enjoy the post-COVID in-person gatherings a bit more than virtual ones via the internet. “Although virtual events via the internet make it easier for some of our members to attend, especially in a state as big as ours, the in-person gatherings have proven a bit more popular,” said Tony Gagliardi, NFIB Colorado’s state director. “When we hold them at the Warwick Hotel or the History Museum, both a few blocks from the State Capitol, they are also easier to attend for state lawmakers. We will still use virtual gatherings for inviting agency heads to talk on specific issues, but, absent any more pandemics, in-person is how we’re looking to conduct future Small Business Days.” This year’s Small Business Day program featured a variety of speakers with a message attending entrepreneurs were delighted to be informed of. The roster of guests included:
  • Senate Minority Leader Paul Lundeen
  • House Minority Whip Richard Holtorf
  • State Rep. Matt Soper, vice chairman of the House Committee on Legal Services
  • David Addington, executive vice president of NFIB, general counsel, and CLO
  • Matthew Woolley, NFIB regional political manager, who spoke about NFIB’s political program and interviewed 2022 congressional candidate and NFIB member Jewels Gray about running for office
Additionally, Gagliardi provided an overview of the legislation most impactful for small businesses and thanked Linda Jones for her service as chair of the NFIB Colorado Leadership Council. In addition to Small Business Days, there are other ways to get more involved in the mission of NFIB. To find out more, email Grassroots Manager ML McGinty at ml.mcginty@nfib.org.
