The voting record shows how legislators voted on key issues affecting South Carolina's small businesses

92 SC Legislators Achieve 100% NFIB Voting Records

NFIB State Director Ben Homeyer today said that 92 state legislators — 18 senators and 74 representatives — achieved 100% NFIB Voting Records in the 2023-24 legislative session. “South Carolina’s small businesses are fortunate to have a governor and legislative leaders who understand the critical role local businesses play in the state’s economy,” Homeyer said. “We saw that in this year’s session of the General Assembly when lawmakers passed key components of the Small Business Bill of Rights. We hope the House and Senate will continue to support small businesses in next year’s session by passing long-needed legislation that helps stop lawsuit abuse in the state.” The 2023-24 Voting Record includes seven key votes in both chambers of the legislature on issues important to small businesses. Thompson said the NFIB Voting Record does not reflect every element considered by a lawmaker when voting, nor does it represent a complete profile of a legislator. It does not factor in that many of these legislators were very helpful to small business in committees.
