Shawn Shouldice
NFIB/Vermont State Director

The state's largest small business advocacy group, NFIB/Vermont, named Shawn Shouldice its state director in January 2004.

She has worked tirelessly for the past 18 years on behalf of small businesses in many economic sectors; local, state, regional and international trade associations; and non-profit organizations, representing their interests before the state Legislature and state administrative and regulatory agencies. She has a long and close working relationship with Vermont's delegation to Congress and their staff.

Shouldice is co-founder, along with her father, of William Shouldice & Associates, a Montpelier-based governmental affairs firm, whose expertise, in addition to small business, includes healthcare, banking, insurance and securities, transportation and taxation.

Shouldice's advocacy work for small businesses includes tracking legislation, preparing presentations, testifying on rules and legislation, and planning and executing governmental strategies. She handles public relations for clients, plans and organizes public events, and prepares regular and special reports on public issues.

Shouldice received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Merrimack College, and an associate's degree in business administration from Endicott College.
