Patrick Connor
NFIB/Washington State Director

    
Patrick Connor was named NFIB/Washington state director on Aug. 17, 2009.

A native Washingtonian, Connor spent the last six years as the national affairs director for the Washington Farm Bureau, where he lobbied Congress and the Washington Legislature on agricultural issues, especially as they overlapped healthcare, tax and fiscal, biotechnology, and product labeling policies. One of his proudest achievements was helping secure $31.5 million in tax relief for Washington farmers and ranchers for the 2007-2009 biennium.

Prior to the Farm Bureau, Connor was vice president of his family’s construction business in Grays Harbor, where he managed a payroll from $2 million in annual revenues. It was during this time that Connor became familiar with NFIB and eventually sat on its state Leadership Council. His other professional involvements include serving on the boards of the National Association of Home Builders and Rebuilding Together, both of which he served a spell as chapter president.

While working with his family enterprise, Connor also served on the Hoquiam City Council from 1997 to 2004. He was the council’s president and mayor pro tem in 2000 and 2002. Connor graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane with a bachelor of arts degree in political cience. He is a Harry S Truman scholar for his commitment to public policy issues.
