Andrew Markowski
NFIB/Connecticut State Director

Andrew Markowski brings a wealth of government-relations and public-affairs experience as the new Connecticut state director for NFIB. He has spent several years lobbying the Connecticut General Assembly on a wide range of issues, having represented small contractors, trade associations, municipal interests and private entities.

In addition to his role with NFIB, Markowski also currently serves as counsel at Gara & Associates, LLC, a Hartford-based government relations and political consulting firm. Prior to lobbying in Connecticut, Markowksi worked in the public affairs department for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority's Central Artery/Tunnel Project, better known as the "Big Dig." In this role, he served as a project liaison to state and federal government officials, as well as the greater Boston business community. As a native of western Massachusetts and a resident of Wallingford, he is uniquely familiar with the economic corridor between Springfield, Hartford and New Haven.

Markowski received his bachelor's degree in political science from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and his juris doctor, cum laude, from Western New England College School of Law. He is a member of the Connecticut bar.
