OLYMPIA, Wash., June 23, 2025—The political action arm of Washington’s leading small business association today announced its endorsements of two candidates running for special election to seats in the State Senate.
NFIB WA PAC endorsed Chad Magendanz for the Legislative District 5 senate seat, which includes the Issaquah area of King County, and Amy Walen for the senate seat in Legislative District 48, which takes in some of the Redmond and Bellevue areas of Kings County.
“Both Amy Walen and Chad Magendanz are proven friends of small business,” said NFIB State Director Patrick Connor, speaking for the PAC. “They have legislative records testifying to their support of Main Street enterprises in deeds, not just in words.”
Rep. Walen has won NFIB WA PAC’s endorsement in two of her three House races, including last year. She chairs the House Consumer Protection & Business Committee and has co-sponsored NFIB priority legislation.
Magendanz is a former two-term state representative who twice earned NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business award during his tenure. He scored 100% on NFIB’s 2024 candidate questionnaire and was endorsed by NFIB WA PAC last year.
