State Director Gregg Thompson says the national data reflects what's happening here

NFIB State Director Gregg Thompson says the NFIB Small Business Economic Trends Survey reflects the challenges facing North Carolina’s small business community.

“Our small business members are becoming more optimistic as sales improve, but their ability to grow is still limited by their ability to find qualified workers,” he said.

“Small business owners here are seeing the same moderation in job openings that we’re seeing nationally,” Thompson said. “But many of our members are still hiring, and many of them are still having a hard time finding people with the skills and experience they need.”

The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index rose 0.5 points in August to 100.8, nearly 3 points above the 52-year average of 98. Click here to learn more.
