Moreland joined PCN on Oct. 7th
NFIB Pennsylvania State Director Greg Moreland appeared on PCN Capitol Preview with Bernie Gallagher, Executive Director of Keystone Research Center, to discuss the state budget, small business optimism, and proposed legislation being considered by the General Assembly.
When talking about the state budget impasse, Moreland said, “The beauty of the private sector is that it doesn’t rely on the government to operate.” The Pennsylvania Legislature has been in a budget impasse for over three months, and for the most part, negotiations remain stalled.
Moreland went on to explain how small business owners are currently feeling, “What we recently found is that in August, we’re three points above the 52-year average [for small business optimism], and this has gone up since January and the reason because of that is the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction was included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act down in D.C., and that did get made permanent. That means that our small business owners are not going to be facing a 20% tax increase come the end of the year…”
