The Illinois General Assembly is considering new tax increases to provide additional funding to the Chicago-area transit systems and other state programs. Some of the revenue-raising ideas being considered in Springfield include:

  • An income tax increase
  • A service tax
  • A retail delivery tax
  • An online advertising tax
  • A new payroll tax
