TAKE ACTION: Stop HB 1054 Before It Adds New Employer Mandates

February 17, 2026

HB 1054 would create a new state enforcement system beyond federal OSHA – adding cost, complexity, and legal risk for small business owners

Colorado lawmakers are considering House Bill 1054, titled “Protections for Worker Safety,” which would create a new, state-level workplace safety regulatory regime.

While worker safety is a priority for every responsible employer, HB 1054 goes beyond existing federal OSHA requirements by creating a new enforcement system at the state level. This means more rules, more paperwork, and potentially more inspections, penalties, and unnecessary liability for small businesses.

We’re asking Colorado lawmakers to stand with Main Street and oppose policies that make it harder to own and operate a small business in our state.
