Shakedown lawsuits have the small business community afraid that they are next on the list
Missouri small business owners are being blind sighted by unwarranted ADA lawsuits. Trial attorneys have been sending threatening letters to small businesses that have websites that are ADA noncompliant.
While there are no clear ADA compliance guidelines for websites, these attorneys are demanding settlements of up to $15,000. These shakedown lawsuits have the small business community afraid that they are next on the list.
Small businesses have enough on their plates without having to be worried about forking out money for a baseless lawsuit. Missouri needs to enforce penalties on these “money-grabbing schemes.”
