TAKE ACTION: Say “No” to the OSHA Walkaround Policy in Illinois!

Tell Illinois lawmakers how SB 1976 would hurt small businesses

SB 1976 would require Illinois to adopt many of the Biden Administration’s workplace regulations—including its OSHA Walkaround Rule—if the federal rules are rolled back or modified by the new administration.

Many of these rules impose significant red tape and costs on Main Street businesses, while exposing them to greater civil liability.

NFIB is currently contesting the federal OSHA Walkaround Rule in court, but, if fully implemented, it would permit union representatives and plaintiff attorneys to participate in OSHA inspections in non-union workplaces.

Under SB 1976, if the new administration revokes or rescinds this overreaching rule, state agencies would be required to put in place an equivalent regulation and impose an Illinois version of the OSHA Walkaround Rule on employers in this state.

This would put Illinois employers at a disadvantage by authorizing union organizers and plaintiffs’ attorneys direct access to private workplaces.

Tell your legislators in Springfield that Illinois doesn’t need the OSHA Walkaround Rule or other similar Biden Administration rules that impose costs, liability, and increased compliance requirements on Illinois’ small businesses!
