NFIB calling on members to use their Action Alert to Oppose Senate Bill 426

The Oregon Senate is considering a bill to make property owners and general contractors liable for the unpaid wages of subcontractors, even though it’s already illegal to deny employees the wages they’ve earned. Senate Bill 426 would unfairly shift liability onto businesses who have no direct control over subcontractors.

SB 426 recently passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 26 on a vote of 4-2 and will now head to the Senate Floor. The floor vote is imminent, so now is the time for small businesses to make their voices heard.

NFIB members have been sent a link making it easy for them to contact their elected officials and tell them to oppose SB 426. Please use it to stand up for law-abiding property owners and construction contractors.
