NFIB’s statement on the start of session

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Ohio’s leading small business advocacy organization, released the following statement from NFIB Ohio State Director Chris Ferruso on the start of the 136th Ohio General Assembly.

“Ohio’s small businesses throughout the state benefit from the General Assembly keeping taxes low and regulations at a minimum. As the 136th Ohio General Assembly begins, we look forward to working with new and returning lawmakers on advancing pro-small business policies that keep Ohio a great state to own and operate a small business. We especially look forward to working with the 29 NFIB members and small business owners serving in the 136th session.”

NFIB’s latest research shows that small business optimism rose to the highest reading since June 2021 in December following the election. The net percent of small business owners expecting the economy to improve rose 41 points from October to a net 36%, the highest since June 2020.
