Shop Small During Back-To-School Sales Tax Holiday

Certain back-to-school items will be exempt from sales tax Saturday, August 3 through Sunday, August 4.

LITTLE ROCK (July 31, 2024) – Ahead of the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, NFIB Arkansas is encouraging consumers to shop small. The sales tax holiday, which begins on Saturday, August 3, is a great opportunity to support local businesses.

“Shopping small keeps more of your hard-earned dollars within your community,” NFIB State Director Katie Burns said. “Main Street is the backbone of our economy, creating good-paying jobs for our friends and family. As frequent donors to charity and sponsors of Little League teams, small business owners also keep our communities vibrant and strong. We hope that Arkansans will turn to their small businesses for their back-to-school supplies during this sales tax holiday.”

Background:

According to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, the 2024 Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 AM CT on Saturday, August 3, and concludes at 11:59 PM CT on Sunday, August 4.
