North Carolina's senior senator was the keynote speaker then joined NFIB members for a roundtable on small business issues
Sen. Thom Tillis Joins NFIB for Small Business Day
Senator Tillis said it’s important for members of Congress not to let partisan politics get in the way of addressing important issues such as the economy, banking, and energy. “You can’t wait for the next election,” he said. “You can’t wait for the ideal circumstance of having control of all the bodies (of government) to get something done. You can’t wait for perfect. You need to get good done.” Senator Tillis then joined NFIB small business members for a panel discussion on a host of issues including labor, immigration, and temporary work visas. “We truly appreciate Senator Tillis spending so much time with our members and engaging on the issues that matter to North Carolina’s small businesses,” NFIB State Director Gregg Thompson said. “Small Business Day is a chance for small business owners from across the state to learn more about the state and federal issues that matter most to them and engage with their elected leaders,” Thompson said. “The fact Senator Tillis spent so much time with our members today really shows how important the voice of small business is in Raleigh and in Washington.”It was great hearing from @SenThomTillis today at @NFIB #SmallBusiness Day on #banking, #labor, the economy and other issues important to #MainStreet #NorthCarolina. pic.twitter.com/6naUGogeHZ
