NFIB is asking Congress not to let the 20% Small Business Deduction expire at the end of 2025

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn met with small business owners on Tuesday, April 22, for a roundtable discussion on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, highlighting the legislation’s impact and the need to extend the 20% Small Business Deduction—a key provision set to expire at the end of the year.

The event was hosted by Manda Machine Co., an NFIB member business in Dallas. In addition to Manda owner Andy Ellard, NFIB Texas Leadership Council member Jason Denton, CEO of Reliable Technology Services, also attended the event.

Sen. Cornyn and the business leaders discussed how provisions like the 20% Small Business Deduction have empowered job creators and helped them grow, even in challenging economic conditions.

“For our business, we looked back at our tax returns over the last three years, and this specific tax cut has saved us $80,000 that we’ve been able to reinvest in our business,” Ellard told CBS Texas. “We hired a business development company to help us seek business throughout the U.S.”

NFIB continues to advocate for small business tax relief, saying it’s essential for driving growth, creating jobs, and strengthening the economy.
