Fisher penned a new op-ed on the need of regulatory reform for small businesses

NFIB Michigan State Director Amanda Fisher penned a new op-ed in Crain’s Detroit Business on why Michigan small businesses need true regulatory reform.

Fisher wrote, “It is important to understand that there are many facets to the state’s regulatory environment. In addition to licensing and permitting, there are a myriad of regulations with which small businesses have to comply. It is also critical to understand that small businesses are disproportionately affected by the regulatory environment.

“Small business owners typically don’t have the resources or staff to dedicate time to dealing with government bureaucracy. And while some regulations may not seem significant, the proverbial “death by a thousand paper cuts” is a real issue for small businesses. And some of those regulations are more significant and are full-on knife wounds.”
