Results help center NFIB’s lobbying agenda in Salem

Your Opinion on Four Questions Sought

An email with ballot information was sent to you. If you haven’t already, please use it to express your opinion on four issues the Oregon State Legislature will be grappling with in 2025.

Unique among business associations, NFIB annually polls its members on state and federal issues vital to their ability to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. Results from the member ballots center NFIB’s lobbying position in Salem and in Washington, D.C. It’s because of this method, elected officials and other policymakers from coast to coast consider NFIB to be the true voice of small business.

The 2025 NFIB Oregon-member ballot asked four questions:

  • Should striking workers be eligible to claim Unemployment Insurance benefits?
  • Should small businesses be required to implement workplace violence prevention plans and training?
  • Should Oregon require businesses to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and entities with whom they do business?
  • Should Oregon pass legislation giving employees the right to ignore employer communications during nonworking hours?

The ballot contains background information and proponents’ and opponents’ comments on each of the issues. Please vote your ballot. The Oregon State Legislature returns for business on January 21, 2025.
