Legislature convenes its 2025 session on January 13

Results help center NFIB’s lobbying agenda in Boise

An email with ballot information was sent to you. If you haven’t already, please use it to express your opinion on four issues the Idaho State Legislature will be grappling with in 2025.

Unique among business associations, NFIB annually polls its members on state and federal issues vital to their ability to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. Results from the member ballots center NFIB’s lobbying position in Boise and in Washington, D.C. It’s because of this method, elected officials and other policymakers from coast to coast consider NFIB to be the true voice of small business.

The 2025 NFIB Idaho-member ballot asked four questions:

  • Should Idaho prevent local governments from imposing new regulations on businesses beyond the existing federal OSHA standards for workers performing duties in hot or cold temperatures?
  • Should state and local governments limit or ban the use of oil and gas?
  • Should Idaho require businesses to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and entities with whom they do
    business?
  • Should Idaho pass legislation giving employees the right to ignore employer communications during nonworking
    hours?

The ballot contains background information and proponents’ and opponents’ comments on each of the issues. Please vote your ballot. The Idaho Legislature opens for business on January 6, 2025.
