NFIB member Kellie Loudin discusses the 20% Small Business Deduction

NFIB member and small business owner Kellie Loudin joined the latest episode of NFIB’s Small Business Rundown podcast to discuss the 20% Small Business Deduction. Loudin is a second-generation owner of her family’s heating and air conditioning company. Loudin explained how the Small Business Deduction has been a benefit for her family business and her concerns if it’s not made permanent.

We do oil and gas and heat pumps and air conditioning and hanging wall heaters and floor tube heating and, you know, just about everything in that realm. We don’t go to the industrial level, but we do commercial and then also residential,” Loudin said. “So, you know, what happens though is when there’s tax uncertainty, it stifles growth. You’re not going to have growth when you don’t know what’s going to happen to your tax bill. You’re going to need to hold on to that money. You’re going to need to try and plan for that increase. And you know, a 20% increase is huge.

According to a recent report, making the Small Business Deduction permanent would lead to significant economic benefits, leaving the small business tax rate on a level playing field with its competitors. Additionally, Ohio is projected to gain 43,000 new jobs annually over the next 10 years if the deduction remains in place, including an annual GDP increase of $2.16 billion for the first decade and $4.46 billion per year beyond 2035.

TAKE ACTION: Contact your elected officials TODAY to protect America’s small businesses by making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent!
