Written proponent testimony on Senate Bill 44 to the Ohio Senate Government Oversight Committee: (2/28/23) This legislation will streamline the occupational licensure application process in Ohio. Written proponent testimony on Senate Bill 30 to the Ohio Senate Workforce & Higher Education Committee: (3/1/23) This legislation will allow minors under 16 years old to work until 9 pm on school nights with the permission of a parent or guardian. Written interested party testimony on House Bill 33 (State Operating Budget) to the Ohio House Finance Committee: (3/29/23) Testimony on several workforce and education provisions contained in the bill. Letter of support for Senate Bill 63 to the Ohio Senate Insurance Committee: (3/29/23) This important piece of pro-business legislation will prevent companies from being named in asbestos lawsuits where they have no liability while ensuring those who have been injured by asbestos can pursue claims against entities which they demonstrate have caused them harm.NFIB Key Votes in the 135th Ohio General Assembly:
VOTE YES on Senate Bill 1: Senate Bill 1 takes many of the current responsibilities from the State Board of Education (SBOE) and moves them to a new cabinet-level position at the newly named Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, under the auspices of the governor. This change will bring responsibility for budgetary and policy-making under the direction of the executive branch with oversight by the Ohio General Assembly, ensuring education accountability.
