NFIB’s NY PAC Announces Endorsed Candidates for State Assembly and Senate

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ALBANY (Sept. 7, 2022) NFIB announced today that its New York political action committee has endorsed 77 candidates for New York State Assembly and Senate ahead of the General Election on November 8th.

“Small businesses across New York State continue to struggle in this difficult economic environment and are wondering when there will be light at the end of the tunnel,” said Ashley Ranslow, NFIB’s New York State Director. “Main Street endured tumultuous business conditions throughout the pandemic with state mandated closures and restrictions and is now contending with forty-year high inflation, supply chain challenges, stubbornly high gas and energy prices, and unrelenting labor shortages.”

“Now, more than ever, small businesses need lawmakers in both houses from both sides of the aisle to focus on easing the burden and costs on Main Street. New York State has and continues to be a difficult place to do business, and with the economy showing signs of a recession, policies that support the livelihood and success of small, independent businesses must be a priority,” added Ranslow. “NFIB’s NY PAC has endorsed incumbents and candidates that have demonstrated their commitment and support of small businesses and are willing to champion solutions to help provide much-needed financial and regulatory relief. With small businesses employing nearly half of New Yorkers and producing half of the state’s GDP, New York State is reliant on a strong, vibrant small business ecosystem. The Empire State needs lawmakers that understand this reality.”

NFIB is the state and the nation’s leading and largest small-business association, with nearly 11,000 members in New York representing a wide range of industries and businesses of all shapes and sizes. NFIB’s NY PAC, the association’s state political action committee, endorses candidates based on their positions on key small-business issues, including taxes, labor mandates, regulatory reform, health care, economic development, and other general business climate matters impacting the cost of doing business in New York.

Small-business owners and their employees are a key voting bloc and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB encourages its members to help turn out voters for NFIB NY PAC-endorsed candidates in the 2022 General Election. NFIB and its NY PAC Committee will continue to monitor and evaluate key races across the state and may announce additional candidate endorsements in the future.
