NFIB Wisconsin Calls on Governor to Support Small Businesses

NFIB Wisconsin Calls on Governor to Support Small Businesses

January 23, 2025

NFIB Wisconsin will continue fighting for pro-small business policies

NFIB Wisconsin State Director Bill G. Smith released the following statement after Governor Tony Evers’ State of the State Address to the Legislature.

“NFIB Wisconsin is disappointed the governor seems to view the state’s $4 billion surplus as a green light to launch a tax and spend agenda while our state’s small businesses struggle with the economic challenges of inflation, worker shortages, health care costs, and burdensome taxes.

The governor missed an opportunity in his State of the State Address to embrace the critical role our small businesses play in the economic vitality of Wisconsin. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. They invest in our youth programs, are strong supporters of our schools, create jobs, and provide the products and services essential to the economic growth of communities throughout the state.

NFIB encourages Governor Evers to embrace an agenda of significant tax reductions and to work with the Legislature to enact policies promoting small business creation, growth, and prosperity.”
