Tax and regulatory relief key to improving the business environment in the First State

NFIB Urges Delaware Legislature to Move on Small Business Priorities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DOVER (Jan. 10, 2023) – As Delaware’s 152nd General Assembly gaveled into session today, NFIB State Director Mike O’Halloran issued the following statement urging legislators to keep small businesses’ interests in mind: “Small business is the backbone of Delaware’s economy, anchoring Main Streets across the state and creating a majority of all net new jobs. There is much work to be done to ensure small businesses in Delaware can thrive. Local job creators continue to pay an inequitable and onerous share of the tax burden and face a myriad of challenges posed by state regulatory agencies daily. Further, new threats and burdens loom on the legislative agenda. We stand ready to work with Governor Carney, his cabinet members, and the Senate and House to adopt policies that help improve the business environment for small businesses in Delaware.” ### For nearly 80 years, NFIB has been the voice of small business, advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and member driven. Since our founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses and remains so today.
